Where our culture is today:

1.) Our Nation has become far less Christian, as evidenced in the deterioration of the family. What do all these mass shooters have in common? No father in the home.

2.) Islam, with its anti-Christian agenda, is on the rise. Most of the recent shootings have been either an attack on our military or Christians.

We reap what we sow. When parents model marriage-absence and our public schools teach that anti-Christian religions are good, what else should we expect? Common Core curriculum may sound like a great idea on paper, but it was designed by people who want to disrupt our traditional American way of life. It is accelerating the proliferation of another agenda.

Is this what we want in our public schools?

Protecting Our Children's Lives 2

It’s hard to imagine what was going through the minds of those defenseless students in Umpqua Community College, but when we have been taught to just comply and everything will be fine, what else should we expect?

Here is what one of my friends said about the shooting:

“I’m tired of seeing these reports of people being lined up, told to lay down or even questioned before being shot. Why would you let somebody calmly raise a gun and shoot you. People, you have to determine right now that you are not going to be a victim. If someone walks into your classroom with a weapon the entire room needs to rise up and beat him down. Throw chairs, desks, books or anything you can get your hands on. At the same time everybody bum rushes him and beats him down. You have to get control of his weapon. Get that thing out of his hand or pointed at the ground…yes it will be terrifying but you will live!!! Someone will likely get shot, but it won’t be a massacre. It’s hard to aim when heavy objects are bouncing off of your face!

These weak minded sissies [murderers] do not expect you to put up a fight. When the people who do these kinds of acts are humiliated instead of being made famous for their evil acts, then perhaps these types of events won’t happen anymore. But you have to know ahead of time that you’re going to act. Game in your mind over and over. Decide ahead of time that you refuse to go down without a fight. It’s not pleasant, but that’s the world we all live in. Joining hands and singing John Lennon songs will never change it.”

The police can’t be everywhere, nor do we want them everywhere. Therefore, we must ask what we can do to make our own spheres more safe. The bad actors are betting on our compliance.

The opportunists are using this as another reason to push for more gun control laws. We will never have enough laws to make sure nobody ever gets hurt. The only appropriate response is to further emphasize the importance of learning how to protect ourselves. This is especially important for those who are Christians, since the Christians are becoming frequent targets, as described in this video “Pray for Roseburg.”

We don’t need a state law to make this happen. All it takes is a school board, a church board and parents who care about protecting all of our charges. The police can’t be everywhere, so it’s time for us to learn how to protect ourselves until the police can arrive.

It’s hard to hear some people frame this as a mental health problem. We can argue that anyone who would do this is mentally ill or demon-possessed, but this is disparaging to those who struggle with mental illness and is nothing more than another veiled attempt at gun control. All the government would have to do is to broaden the definition of mental illness to include everybody and then our entire society will be disarmed.

Those on the Left, especially the President, are trying to explain how we should use this to get the guns away from the law-abiding citizens. Notice they have no ideas for how to get the guns away from the bad guys. This tragedy should highlight why we need more personal protection devices, not fewer. I am not suggesting everyone have a gun, but there needs to be enough brave people sprinkled throughout our public spaces that we can help others in the event of an emergency.

It’s hard to say what any of us would do in such a situation, but if we at least have some training, we will be better off. Christians are becoming the target of many of these shootings. The Lieutenant Governor of Tennessee is urging Christians to consider getting guns.

If you have children or grandchildren in the public schools, you need to listen to our podcast and share it with others. It is not just about Common Core. It’s about how to protect your children.

Great insight about all these mass murders coming from fatherless homes. The news media will drone on and on about these incidents for weeks on end, yet never tell us anything useful. I’ve wished someone would do a serious study to work up a profile on mass murders and tell us what factors they have in common that are contributing to this phenomenon. Your short article has just given us more useful information that a weeks worth of TV news.

It is very strange that you did not answer my e-mail’s to you with a plan of action to deter the shooting at college’s . But you can turn around and send out all thse e-mail’s about the same subject????? But if you can help get the job done. Let’s do it in the Show me state of Missouri firist.

Could the Bible be any clearer?

This lays nicely over the top of the 2 quotes above.

    John 10:10
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

    Dear Roy,

Thanks for asking about my plan to keep shooters from killing people.

First, we need more functional families. The first point in the article was about the common thread in ALL OF THESE SHOOTINGS is a lack of father in the life of the shooter. There is a lot government can do to support marriage. Unfortunately, government is supporting policies that destroy families.

Second, people need to stop waiting around for government to solve all of their problems. Instead of cooperating with the bad guy hoping the police will arrive in time to save us, we need a plan for how to protect ourselves.

The question asked about “what is wrong with people who simply stand by while a whole room is killed one by one” is the same question that I asked when I heard details of the incident. Unfathomable. Thank goodness that there are still a few of our people who have the backbone and intestinal fortitude to stand up and protect and fight when needed.

With respect to your interview with Ray Moore, I found the response to the Umpqua College interesting, along with some of the other quotations as noted below with my responses:

“It’s hard to imagine what was going through the minds of those defenseless students in Umpqua Community College, but when we have been taught to just comply and everything will be fine, what else should we expect?”

First, that is part of my argument with respect to the anti-Constitutional establishment of the Un-Patriot Act, the Dept of Homeland Insecurity and the TSA. Before 9-11, and even today, what is the mantra of the Government? “Oh, don’t resist the hijackers. Just let them take the airplane wherever they wish to go and then let the authorities there deal with them.” I remember the wife of the U.S. Government official on the airplane that flew into the Pentagon talking to her husband on her cell phone (rules don’t matter if you are the wife of an important Government official) that she just hoped that wherever the hijackers were taking the airplane, that they would not be detained there too long. Well those Muslim hijackers certainly took the airplanes where they wanted them to go without any resistance, as constantly taught and reiterated by our government officials, with the ultimate exception of the one that went down in Pennsylvania.

“The police can’t be everywhere, nor do we want them everywhere.”

As my firearms instructors (most being current or former police firearms instructors) constantly reiterated regarding the need for possession and potential use of firearms by individuals, “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.” Or in the case of Detroit, a couple of days away – literally.

“The opportunists are using this as another reason to push for more gun control laws. We will never have enough laws to make sure nobody ever gets hurt. The only appropriate response is to further emphasize the importance of learning how to protect ourselves.”

The best way to protect ourselves is to arm ourselves, take courses on how to properly handle and fire a weapon, and then routinely practice what we have been taught. I not only took several pistolcraft courses since starting to carry regularly (my only regret being that I did not begin the practice as a younger adult) but also earned my Armed Security Guard certification. It is not that I ever intended to be an armed security guard but I had an opportunity with my eldest son to take the training, so I did. We received the same training with respect to handling a pistol as do the regular police officers, we just did not get the forensics and other police additions that they get by going to police classes. (It is interesting that after one of my earlier pistolcraft courses, taught by the former and current pistolcraft instructors for the police force in one the most notorious areas of Dayton, both told the class that we all were better equipped to handle a firearm in our own defense than 50% of the current police force because they cannot get the policemen to expend the rounds and then clean their weapons in order to practice sufficiently to remain proficient.)

My biggest irritation with respect to my armed security guard training was that it was so restricted to only a few that could meet certain qualifications as well as pay the state mandated fees to include background checks, etc. What we need to do is make that training available to as many citizens as possible. We need to do away with permits and background checks and the like and go back to the Constitution and our founding fathers (yes, those ignoramuses). Then we need to encourage (not mandate) those citizens who decide to carry, concealed or otherwise, to get proper training and retraining on a regular basis as well as consistent practice in what they have been taught. We need to make this training readily available and affordable. This is the only practical solution to reducing gun violence. When the county of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed an ordinance (in the 1980’s) requiring every head of household to own a gun and ammunition, the national news media predicted it would be the wild west all over again with shootouts in the street almost every night (kind of like Dayton or probably Ferguson, MO, before the curfews and lockdowns). Instead, in spite of significant population growth, it remains the safest county in the nation based on per capita. Of course if anyone cares to check on the true history of the wild west, as opposed to the Hollywood version, one will find there were very few shootouts in the streets among ordinary citizens. From what I understand, there is only one documented case of a gun battle in the street between two ordinary citizens, as constantly depicted by Hollywood, in all of western history. There may have been others on rare occasions that are not known but in general that was a rarity.

A few years ago, the church where I was a member at the time, got a new pastor (who lived with my family along with his wife and cat for nine months after their arrival) who before had been a pastor in a small town in Montana. He told the story about his arrival there. As a new pastor in town, he was trying to meet various people and town officials to let them know of his arrival as a new pastor to the area. He ran into the local sheriff in town somewhere. The sheriff asked if he owned a handgun. Wayne said, “No.” The sheriff told him to meet him at his office at a certain time that afternoon and he would take care of that. Almost everyone in that “wild west” town owned and carried one or more weapons. Wayne said there was never any crime in that town. After all, if someone were to try and rob a local establishment, when he exited the place he would be greeted with a number of local citizens with loaded firearms aimed at the thief. That may or may not have been true but then evidently no one seemed willing to find out.

Economist John Lott, who did not set out to be pro or antigun, just an economist interested in statistics, rightly points out that all noted gun massacres in the U.S. in the last number of decades took place in “no gun” zones with one exception (the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords). In the Giffords case, one of the men taking down the gunman was an armed conceal and carry holder who did not pull his weapon but said it gave him the confidence to help grab and disarm the shooter – whatever that means. What struck me is that there was an armed citizen who did not have sufficient training and practice to immediately take out the shooter.

    Anyhow, my rant for now.

Thank you for standing up against the regime. You are very brave Mrs. Davis. I needed to hear some hopeful perspectives…I believe we are in for a hard, long road ahead as Christians, so so sad. Keep up the good work and speaking TRUTH!

Great blog. Lots of websites like yours cover subjects that can’t be found in magazines and newspapers. I don’t know how we got by 10 years ago with just newspapers and magazines.
