Turbans and Hijabs in the Military

In the news this week, we now have this going on in our military:

The United States Air Force updated its official dress code policy this month, in observance of religious practices, to allow military personnel to wear turbans or hijabs as a part of the uniform…. In addition to religious apparel, members also can request permission to have unshorn beards and unshorn hair. If the length of the beard exceeds 2 inches, it must be “rolled and or tied” to meet the new standards.”

On the surface it appears that the management is trying to be nice to everybody, but where is our discipline? This “political correctness” is going to kill us.

The military shows NO TOLERANCE when it comes to forcing our military to be injected with vacinations.  Even if people have bad reactions, they have to throw their careers in the trash if they refuse even the flu vaccine!  Take the jab or you will be discharged!  No options!

As a military mom, this makes me angry.  When someone puts on the uniform, it is supposed to mean loyalty to the Country first.

What do you think about the change in the military dress code?

I WILL TELL YOU WHAT I THINK. WE SEEM TO BE THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD THAT COWS DOWN TO WHAT EVERYONE ELSE WANTS US TO BE. WE ARE AMERICAN. WE ARE FOR THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE. WE ARE NOT A COUNTRY THAT SHOULD BE COWING DOWN TO WHAT OTHERS WANT OR THINK. THIS COUNTRY WAS FORMED, TO BE UNDER GOD, NOT UNDER, JIHAD. IF THEY WANT UNDER JIHAD THEN THEY SHOULD OF STAYED IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY AND FOUGHT FOR THEIR OWN RIGHTS JUST LIKE WE DID WITH THE CIVIL WAR.
I AM SICK AND TIRED OF EVERYONE ELSE WISHES ARE MET EXCEPT FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. WE ARE FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE UNDER GOD. AGAIN NOT JIHAD. YOU COME TO THIS COUNTRY YOU SPEAK ENGLISH, OR YOU GET OUT. THE JIHAD PEOPLE CAN NOT BEAT US IN WAR, SO NOW THEY ARE INVADING EVER PART OF THE AMERICAN LIFE, AND WE ARE SO STUPID WE DO NOT SEE WHAT THEY ARE UP TO. WELL I WILL TELL YOU, ONCE THEY HAVE INVADED ALL OF OUR LIFE, THEY WILL TURN ON US, AND TAKE US ALL OUT. THE SAME WAY OUR FOREFATHERS DID TO THE INDIANS, THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO US. I GUESS TURN AROUND IS FAIR PLAY. OR IS IT?

This is totally unacceptable. They should not even be permitted, they will tell you themself their alleiggance first and only Allah. Our dear brave soldiers would be having to watch their fronts and backs.

The bearded man wearing a turban in the photo is most likely not a follower of Allah, a false desert god, but a Sikh. According to Wikipedia “Sikhism (is) a monotheistic religion that originated in the 15th century, in the Punjab region in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, based on the revelation of Guru Nanak.” They do not cut their hair, but cover it with a turban. They have proven their valor serving in both the Indian and British Armies. One of the few times I ever had a tear in my eye was when I saw a broadcast of Mother Theresa’s funeral and beheld her casket being carried by Sikh soldiers, big powerful men who were crying. Nonetheless, as volunteers in any branch of the United States military, they should proudly wear the same uniform as all those who also serve.

An all volunteer military should respect its volunteers’ freedom of religion; however, the official uniform should be the same for everybody – though allowance should be made since men and women are different – vive la différence!

I guess the next change in uniforms will be permitting rednecks to wear ball caps backwards (if an enlisted person) or sideways (if an officer)!
As a Korean veteran I am also offended by the change to permit attire based on someone’s religion. I served with several Jewish sailors and they made no special demands.

I thought Trump was President now, not Obama! What the heck is going on? No way turbans should be allowed- or beards! Somebody better tell Trump that it’s bad for morale and to knock it off- fast! If they want to wear beards and turbans they can do it on the outside- not in the military!!

Why should the military feel that they have to tolerate the head dress of the people from foreign countries? Was this done in the early part of our century for those that came from different countries in Europe?

This is crazy and is not part of our military uniform!
