The Declaration

Last week I spoke at the Jefferson County Republican Club.  We were privileged to get to sit at the same table with Mike Reuter. Our message was warmly received by so many great folks who care about the direction our Country is heading.  It was very encouraging to be among lots of like-minded people.

Everyone in America celebrates the Fourth of July. We all know that it’s a patriotic holiday. Nearly all the festivities center around
recreation and entertainment, with little to no acknowledgment of what we’re commemorating. Most people think it’s about how we were unhappy with the King, independence from Great Britain, then there was a war, and we won the war, so therefore we’re celebrating. Yea!

However, few actually ponder what was in the hearts and minds of the American founders or consider why they did what they did. Of those who do actually ascribe any motives or attitudes to the founders, most view them as rebels – people who one day decided to stand up and say “We’re mad as heck and we’re not going to take it anymore.” Perhaps a lot of Americans view the founding fathers as the 1776 equivalent of the 1980’s heavy metal band, Twisted Sister, singing “We’re not gonna take it anymore”.

Is that an accurate picture of the hearts, minds and motives of the American founders? If not, then just how far off track is our current understanding of why they did what they did?

On our show this week, we interview Pastor David Whitney from the Institute on the Constitution. He unpacks the truth behind where we came from and where we are heading. Please enjoy our show and share it with others.

2.)  There’s still time to come to our “Let Freedom Ring” fundraiser!  If you can attend, please call me to RSVP for the count (636) 240-6369

3.)  If you can’t come, but are able to donate something for the silent auction, we are taking donations and have yard signs here at Back To Basics Christian Bookstore 1002 Highway K, O’Fallon, MO 63366.

6.)  We’re asking for donations to promote awareness of Home Front.  Even $5 or $10 will go a long way.  If you want to contribute to this effort, it will help others become aware of our newsletter and our show.  Our newsletter and podcast will educate others. Please consider sending a donation to keep us going.  Since we do not have any other funding stream, your donation will be extremely helpful, especially for the sake of our caring intervention.  Many people do not realize we are a volunteer entity and rely on their assistance along with God’s leading to continue.  If you would like to help, please mail a check to:
